Romanian retailer Okian adds .com shop to sell books to Romanians in the US

Romanian online book retailer Okian, which has been selling foreign and Romanian books for the last 15 years, has expanded internationally with a .com website, targeting Romanians who live in the US. The bookshop will sell Romanian books in the US, offering online payments in dollars and delivery across the US. “While studying the Romanian market, we discovered that this niche was not really covered. To buy Romanian books in the US, Romanians have to either pay high transport costs, or ask friends who came from Romania to buy books for them,” said Rares Benga, who coordinates Okian.com. The new online bookshop was officially launched at the Making Waves Romanian film festival in New York end of November. The new website Okian.com is in Romanian and buyers can also order Romanian books which are not yet listed on the site, as they could be delivered from the retailer's suppliers.
