Romanian RCS& RDS increases Wi-Fi network five-fold to 2,400 hotspots, plans further growth

Romanian telecom operator RCS&RDS currently provides 2,400 Wi-Fi hotspots across Romania, through its Digi Wi-Fi service, according to the company. “Digi Wi-Fi is the only wireless internet network of this size in Romania, most of the other networks do not have over 100 hotspots. From 2011 until now, the Wi-Fi network has grown by five times - the number of hotspots first installed was 500. We will continue to expand the network at a similar pace,” said Valentin Popoviciu, Development Manager, RCS&RDS. The telecom operator recently provided a new way clients can connect to the Digi Wi-Fi service: by selecting the Digi Wi-Fi Direct Login network, the subscribers are automatically reconnected after the first entry in the network, depending on the terminal and its settings, according to RCS&RDS. RCS&RDS, controlled by Romanian businessman Zoltan Teszari, was created 15 years ago and operates on the Romanian market, as well as in Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Serbia, Spain and Italy.
