Romanian Railways Company CFR to modernize ten train stations with EUR 96.7 million

Romania’s state-owned railway company CFR SA will modernize ten train stations in the country for an estimated RON 332.8 million net of VAT, EUR 96.7 million including VAT, the company said on Thursday. CFR will organize four auctions for execution works. The first auction includes stations Giurgiu (RON 14.52 million, net of VAT- EUR 3.4 million), Slobozia Veche (RON 29.23 million, net of VAT- EUR 68.6 million), and Calarasi Sud (RON 26.34 million, net of VAT- EUR 61.8 million). Bids will be open on March 21. Another auction includes modernization works on stations Sfantu Gheorghe (RON 41.74 million, net of VAT- EUR 9.7 million) and Targu Mures (RON 45.21 million, net of VAT- EUR 10.6 million). Bids will be open on March 15. The third auction is for stations in Botosani (RON 19.81 million, net of VAT- EUR 4.6 million), Vaslui (RON 28.49 million, net of VAT- EUR 6.6 million), Piatra Neamt (RON 25.19 million, net of VAT- EUR 5.9 million) and Braila (RON41.99 million, net of VAT- EUR 9.8 million). Bids for this auction will be open on March 24. A fourth auction targets the station in Pitesti and will cost up to RON 60.25 million, net of VAT (EUR 14.1 million), and bids will be open on March 17. All contracts are valid for two years, except for the Pitesti station, where the contract period is of three years.
