Romanian poet Dinescu to open restaurant under his name in Bucharest's Old Town

Romanian poet Mircea Dinescu will open a restaurant in the Old Town area of Bucharest in November, serving traditional food, mostly coming from Dinescu's farm in Cetate, according to Mediafax newswire. The restaurant, to be named Dinescu, will be opened in a rented place, and will have a ground floor and wine cellar. Mircea Dinescu had his debut in 1967 and has received various literary awards in Romania ever since. In February 1989, following an interview for the French newspaper Liberation, where he talked about the Ceausescu regime, he was submitted to house arrest and was no longer allowed to publish. After 1989, Dinescu was the president of the Writers' Union, one of the founders of the satirical magazine Academia Catavencu and then of Plai cu Boi and Aspirina Saracului. He currently writes for the magazine Catavencii, also a satirical publication, published by Dinu Patriciu's Adevarul Holding. editor@romania-insider.com
