Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta (in picture) will make an official visit to the US next week, he recently announced. “The visit to the US was scheduled a while ago for next week, for October 23, but it’s true that this was questioned for a while because of the political crisis in Washington,” said Victor Ponta. The visit will have a political and economic character and will also include discussions related to the projects Romania has with the US. This comes at a time when American oil and gas company Chevron is lobbying for its shale gas exploration project, which is being opposed by environmentalists in Romania.
