Romanian online IT&C retailer searches for an investor

Romanian online IT&C retailer CEL.ro will search for an investor that will allow it to increase its online product portfolio and take over other competitors, said Tiberiu Pop, the company’s owner. The retailer’s turnover rose by 40% in the first quarter of this year over the same period in 2015. The sales of smartphones and TV sets rose by over 80% in the first three months of the year compared to the same period in 2015, reports local Economica.net. The sales of appliances and personal care products went up by 50% whereas the gadget sales tripled year-on-year. However, the tablet sales dropped by 30% year-on-year. The company recorded a turnover of EUR 40 million last year, up from EUR 32.6 million in 2014. The online store sells over 100,000 products. editor@romania-insider.com
