An individual made EUR 266,000 from almost 1,500 undeclared online transactions causing a damage of EUR 84,000 to the state budget. He didn’t pay any VAT or tax on revenues related to his online trade. The anti-fraud inspectors have been checking the e-commerce activity of several online stores and sale platforms. They’ve been investigating the users’ activity. The individual they found had been running an online store under the ID ITMediaGalaxy starting November 2014. Since then, he has sold 1,492 smartphones, tablets, and TVs worth EUR 266,000. There are many such “online stores” in Romania which promote their products and carry their activity through classifieds portals. Usually, the people running such stores bring electronics from abroad and sell them with no legal documents in Romania. editor@romania-insider.com
