Romanian insurer Groupama Asigurari pays EUR 100 mln compensations

Local insurer Groupama Asigurari paid about EUR 100 million worth of compensations last year on the non-life insurance segment. About 68% of the amount was paid to companies. The highest damage claim the company covered last year was the compensation for a mandatory car insurance policy (RCA). It amounted to almost EUR 500,000. The insurer ranked third on the local market both for its revenues as well as for the paid compensation, according to the Financial Supervisory Authority. 65% of the amount paid as compensation went to the non-mandatory car insurance claims whereas 20% of the payments went to the mandatory car insurance segment. editor@romania-insider.com
