The Romanian industry’s total turnover, both on the internal and external markets, increased by 2.7% in nominal terms in the first seven months of the year compared to the same period in 2014. The manufacturing industry rose by 2.8% in this period, whereas the mining and quarrying fell by 2.0%. Increases in turnover were registered in the capital goods industry (7.8%), consumer durable goods (5.7%), intermediary goods (4.7%), and consumer goods (1.5%). In July 2015, the industry’s total turnover went up by 2.2% compared to the previous month and by 6.4% year-on-year, according to the National Institute of Statistics. The mining and quarrying industry fell by 17.3% in July compared to the previous month, whereas the manufacturing industry rose by 2.8%. editor@romania-insider.com
