Romanian gas carrier gets EUR 56 mln contract

Romanian state-owned gas producer Romgaz Medias has closed a contract with the national gas carrier Transgaz to transport natural gas. The contract’s value amounts to EUR 56 million. Romgaz Medias ended the first six months of 2015 with a net profit of RON 766 million (EUR 172.5 million), down 12% compared to the result registered in the same period the previous year (RON 871 million). The company’s main shareholder is the Romanian state, which holds 70% of its shares. Transgaz, which is also controlled by the state, had a net profit of some EUR 73 million in the first half of 2015, up by 9% compared to the same period of last year. editor@romania-insider.com
