Romanian food producer invests in wine cellar & ready meal factory

Local food producer Cris Tim will invest more than EUR 5 million this year in a wine cellar and a ready meal factory, a segment that increased by 30% last year, said Radu Timis, owner of the company. "This year we'll invest about EUR 3 million in a new ready-meal factory in Filipestii de Padure in Prahova county. We will be operational by next year. We will start from a capacity of 10 tonnes per day, hoping to reach 15-20 tonnes per day in two years," Timis said, cited by local Mediafax. Cris Tim is already producing ready meals and had sales of over EUR 5 million on this segment last year, up 30% year-on-year. The company also wants to invest EUR 2.5 million in a "boutique wine cellar". Cris Tim started producing wines last year in a winery close to its vineyard. editor@romania-insider.com
