The minimum wage will increase to RON 1,250 (EUR 280) starting May 1 this year, like previously announced, said the Finance Minister Anca Dragu. The Fiscal Code will also be amended so that the people without revenues don’t have to pay the social contributions anymore. The changes will be approved in a few days, the Finance Minister said. In December last year, members of the unions and employers’ representatives have finally reached an agreement with the Romanian Government on the minimum wage increase starting May 1, this year. editor@romania-insider.com
