Romanian film 'If I want to Whistle, I Whistle', strong debut, writes IndieWire

IndieWire, a specialized publication in the US writing about independent filmmakers, has reviewed Romania's Oscar entry movie 'If I want to Whistle, I whistle', saying the film marks a strong debut in the awards. The publication has offered the B grade for the movie, which had its premiere in the US earlier this week. The Romanian movie ‘If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle’ has its premiere in the US on January 5 and will run in New York until January 18. Following up are screenings in LA, Palm Springs (Regal, Tahquitz, Canyon Way) on Saturday, January 8, starting 12:30 and on Monday, January 10, starting 15:30. If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle is Romania’s official entry into this year’s Oscar competition for Best Foreign Language Film. Florin Serban’s first feature-length movie, ‘If I Want To Whistle, I Whistle’, got the jury prize Alfred-Bauer award for cinematic innovation in the 60th edition of the Berlinale. Oscar nominees will be announced on January 25, 2011.
