Romanian electric train Hyperion changes route and will go to the mountain during the winter season

The new Romanian private train Hyperion changed its route starting Monday, September 15, and will go from Craiova to the mountain city of Brasov, via Bucharest, according to Softrans, the company that operates the train. Hyperion, which is an electric train completely developed in Craiova, was launched at the beginning of August, connecting Craiova to the seaside city of Constanta, also via Bucharest. As the summer season is over, the company which operates the train decided to change its final destination to Brasov. Between Bucharest and Brasov, the train also stops in Ploiesti, Campina and in the mountain resorts of Sinaia, Busteni, Azuga and Predeal, on the Prahova Valley. The train departs at 5:30 from Craiova and arrives in Bucharest at 8:36. At 9:00, it leaves to Brasov, where it arrives at 11:46. For the return, the private train leaves at 15:30 from Brasov, arrives at 18:03 to Bucharest, from where it departs at 18:23 to Craiova. It reaches the destination at 21:30. A ride from Craiova to Bucharest costs RON 40 (some EUR 10), while a trip Bucharest-Brasov costs RON 30 (some EUR 7). A ticket for Craiova-Brasov has a special price of RON 55 (some EUR 13). Tickets can be booked online on Softrans.ro and paid in the train, or can be directly purchased in the train, without any previous reservation. The train created with EU and private funding by Romanian company Softronic, based in Craiova, is equipped with AC and free wireless internet, as well as power outlets for the passengers’ electronic devices.
