Romanian company develops first online marketplace dedicated to local producers

Romanian IT services provider Radcom has developed deprinromania.ro, the first online marketplace dedicated exclusively to local producers. “Romanians’ interest for online shopping has increased significantly in recent years. […] Several studies also show that most Romanians prefer to buy products manufactured in Romania, not abroad, and most of them believe that Romanian products are better than foreign ones,” reads a company press release. Deprinromania.ro was implemented with EU funds. A total of 33 Romanian producers are currently present on the platform. They manufacture and sell a wide variety of products such as food, cosmetics, clothes, accessories, and decorative items. New producers join the platform every month, the average monthly rate being five manufacturers and 300 new products. “These manufacturers’ products are mainly focused on unique micro-production, or on bio raw materials; thus, the quality and originality come first,” said Melinda Paunescu, development manager Radcom. The project aims to promote local products, develop domestic production, support Romanian manufacturers, and guide consumers towards authentic Romanian products.
