Romanian company invests EUR 2 mln in four cooking websites

Skin Media, one of the largest IT&C equipment distributors in Romania, has invested EUR 2 million in four cooking websites, which include Bucataras.ro, Gustos.ro, Reteteculinare.ro, and Culinar.ro. The company, owned by local investor Camil Perian, has changed its strategy in the last year, and started to focus its business on the “lifestyle technology” area. It has launched the BaByliss brand, and has acquired the four cooking platforms. “Our aim is to create a community passionate about cooking,” said Perian, cited by local Wall-street.ro. He aims to unite the four websites and increase their cumulated traffic from 4.4 million visitors per month to over 7 million visitors. Skin targets a 15% increase in its turnover this year, planning to exceed the EUR 50 million threshold. The company has given up IT&C distribution and has focused its efforts in selling healthy cooking equipment, personal care, and professional cameras (Nikon), which are growing market segments. editor@romania-insider.com
