Romanian chemical fertilizer sells 66% of production locally

Romanian chemical fertilizer producer Azomures Targu Mures sells 66% of its production on the local market, but it plans to reach 80%. In 2012, when the Swiss trader Ameropa bought the company, Azomures exported 80% of its production. The company is currently investing over EUR 200 million in increasing production capacity and new products. Last year, the chemical fertilizer consumption in Romania increased to 2.05 million tonnes from 1.75 million tonnes in 2013, said Mihai Anitei, Azomures General Manager, cited by local Wall-street.ro. The consumption could have a double-digit growth in the next years, according to company’s expectations. Azomures has a 40% market share. editor@romania-insider.com
