Romanian insurer CertAsig increases gross written premiums by almost a half

Romanian insurer CertAsig underwrote gross premiums of EUR 3.5 million in the first quarter of the year, up 42% year-on-year. The company, which specializes in corporate insurance and operates in Romania, Turkey and Bulgaria, posted a EUR 2 million turnover in Romania in this period. In the first quarter of the last year, the insurer wrote gross premiums of EUR 2.5 million. The local market generated 60% of the company’s turnover between January and March, followed by the Turkish market, which brought about a third of its business. The business in Bulgaria is still in the beginning. Insurance of guarantees, cargo and transit goods accounted for 60% of the company’s gross written premiums. editor@romania-insider.com
