Romanian Astra Insurance may get EUR 94 mln new capital by March 2015

Three or four investors have accessed the database information for the capitalization of insurer Astra Asigurari (ATRA) owned by businessman Dan Adamescu, and the process will be completed in March 2015, said Misu Negritoiu, president of the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF). "I am optimistic and I think that in February or March 2015 we will sign a strong commitment with a foreign investor for the capitalization of Astra Asigurari, respectively to implement the second stage of raising the share capital by EUR 94 million.” Negritoiu said, cited by local Wall-street.ro. He added that there are three or four foreign investors who are interested in Astra Asigurari. In early October, Astra Asigurari received EUR 14.7 million in new capital, reaching EUR 58 million share capital. The insurer was put under special administration by the Financial Supervisory Authority at the beginning of this year, due to poor financial indicators. editor@romania-insider.com
