Romanian Arcon Group ends 2013 with EUR 38 mln turnover, while exports up by a third

Romanian construction materials producer Arcon Group registered a total turnover of some EUR 38 million last year, and a profit of EUR 2.2 million. “The 2013 figures on all five lines of business registered slight increases, while the export, an important parameter in the current situation, strengthened as predicted in the beginning of the year, reaching EUR 4.7 million, up 30 percent compared to 2012,” said Ioan Titeiu, general manager of Arcon Group. The total investments in product development, technology, logistics, marketing and staff amounted to EUR 1.2 million in 2013, a similar amount being planned for this year. Last year, Arcon delivered thermo system from Sf. Gheorghe and Bucharest. The paint used in the composition of Arco thermo system is produced in Arcon’s factory in Sf. Gheorghe, after a three-million investment completed in 2011. The factory produces paint and plasters used for the company’s own thermo system, but also in residential and industrial projects. Arcon produces paint under the brand Perfect Color, and plasters branded Perfect Decor. The group is also present with Arco membranes on external markets such as Bulgaria, Greece, Malta, Cyprus, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Albania. Arcon was established in 1994 in Sf. Gheorghe and currently employs 250 people. The company is also the largest Romanian producer of bitumen membranes with elastomers for waterproofing. Irina Popescu, irina.popescu@romania-insider.com
