Romania to create five regional centers for genetic diseases

Romania’s Health Ministry will create five regional centers for genetic diseases, in Bucharest, Cluj, Timisoara, Iasi and Oradea, targeting to reduce the frequency of these diseases and also child mortality related to them, according to Mediafax quoting a law project. According to estimates, in Romania some 7,500 to 8,000 children with genetic diseases are born and some 10,000 to 11,000 others will have a disease which is genetically determined or conditioned by the age of 25. editor@romania-insider.com
