Romania has failed to absorb nearly EUR 3 billion from the previous 2007-2013 financial programme due to projects that weren’t completed on time, said Emanoil Radu Dascalu, state secretary within the EU Funds Ministry. The country has lost EUR 2 billion on transport projects and EUR 1 billion on environment projects, reports local Agerpres. The country failed to attract EUR 3 billion during 2007-2015, a period of crisis for Romania, the state secretary said. Romania has about EUR 11.9 billion for large infrastructure projects for the 2014-2020 financing period, Dascalu added. Of the total amount, the EU funds represent EUR 9.4 billion. editor@romania-insider.com
