Romania joins Union Customs Code

Romania joined the Union Customs Code (UCC) starting May 1. The law aims to facilitate trade within the European Union and to decrease compliance costs for companies. The UCC also supports implementing more unified electronic data processing techniques for all information exchanges between trade and customs. The customs system required by the Union Customs Code will be fully implemented by the end of 2020. Until then, the customs should move to a paperless and fully electronic environment. editor@romania-insider.com
