Romania has a deficit of EUR 44 mln in agricultural trade

Romania recorded a deficit of EUR 44.1 million in the trade with agricultural products in the first eight months of the year, down from a EUR 140 million surplus in the same period of 2014. However, Romania had a EUR 25 million surplus on this segment in September, as the deficit was EUR 69.4 million in the first seven months of the year, reports local Economica.net. Romania exported agricultural products of EUR 3.616 billion in the first eight months of the year, up by EUR 341 million compared to the same period in 2014. The imports amounted to EUR 3.66 billion, up by EUR 526 million year-on-year. Cigarettes and corn ranked first among the products exported by Romania. The volume of wheat exports dropped by more than one million tons, which led to a EUR 187 million decrease in revenues. editor@romania-insider.com
