Romania has 22,000 fewer jobless

The unemployment rate in Romania reached 5.12% at the end of April, down 0.25% compared to the previous month and down 0.02% year-on-year. The number of jobless recorded by the employment agencies amounted to 463,000, down 22,600 compared to March. Those who receive unemployment benefits totaled 97,000, 15,400 fewer compared to the previous month. In April, the unemployment rate among men reached 5.59%, compared to 5.87% in March, whereas the jobless rate among women amounted to 4.59%, compared to 4.81% in March. The highest number of unemployed was recorded among those aged 40-49 – some 135,200 people. editor@romania-insider.com
