Romania could get EUR 360 million from World Bank by end of October

Romania may receive a EUR 360 million tranche from the World Bank by the end of October, the bank’s country manager, Francois Rantrua (in picture) said, quoted by Bloomberg. The Finance Ministry and a team from the World Bank are negotiating the final details for the disbursement by September 10, which will be presented to the bank’s board on October 19. The actual payment depends on parliament’s approval of changes to the pension system and the introduction of health insurance co-payments, said Rantrua, according to Bloomberg. The payment from the World Bank will help finance budget operations. Romania has received a total of EUR 10.7 million from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), EUR 2.5 billion from the European Commission and EUR 300 million from the World Bank since 2009. romania-insider.com
