Romania attracts EUR 1.25 bln through Eurobond sale

Romania attracted EUR 1.25 billion on the foreign capital markets on Thursday last week, after reopening two bond issues launched last year, due in 2025 and 2035. The state sold ten-year bonds of EUR 750 million and twenty-year titles of EUR 500 million, according to the Finance Ministry. The yield was 2.55% for the ten-year titles and 3.9% for the twenty-year bonds. The total offers from international investors amounted to EUR 2.3 billion. For the ten-year bonds, investors came from Romania (23%), Great Britain (19%), USA (14%), Poland and other countries from Central and Eastern Europe (14%), Benelux (9%), Germany and Austria (8%). Fund managers were predominant, with a 60% share, followed by banks and private banks (22%), pension funds and insurance companies (11%), central banks (5%) and others (2%).
