Romania and Republic of Moldova join forces to support Black Sea ring highway

Romania and the Republic of Moldova have agreed to promote and support a route of the future Black Sea ring-highway that would include capitals Bucharest and Chisinau, respectively. Romanian Transport Minister Alexandru Nazare and his Moldavian counterpart Anatol Selaru signed last week a joint letter to the Technical Secretary of the Black Sea ring-road, to support the track Giurgiu – Bucharest – Focșani-Albița-Chișinău-Odessa, as well as a connection with the Black Sea through port town Constanta. At end – 2010, Russia signed the memorandum for a ring highway around the Black Sea, which would be 7,140 km long and connect Istanbul (Turkey), Samsun (Turkey), Trabzon (Turkey), Batumi (Georgia), Poti (Georgia), Novorossiisk (Russia), Rostov-on-Don (Russia), Taganrog (Russia), Mariupol (Ukraine), Odessa (Ukraine), Chisinau (Moldova), Bucharest (Romania), Haskovo (Bulgaria), Edirne (Turkey), Istanbul (Turkey), Komotini (Greece), Alexandroupoli (Greece).
