Retail trade turnover, up 3% in Romania in Q1

Romania’s turnover in retail trade, except for motor vehicles and motorcycles sales, increased in the first quarter by 3% year-on-year, both as gross series and adjusted series based on working days and seasonality. The increase in sales of food, beverages and tobacco, as well as retail trade of automotive fuel in specialized stores brought the growth. The sales of non-food goods dropped by 1.6%. In March, retail trade turnover increased by 13.6% as gross series compared to the previous month and went down by 1.6% as adjusted series. editor@romania-insider.com
