The turnover in Romania’s retail trade, except trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles, dropped in February by 1.5% as gross series compared to the previous month, and by 1.4% as adjusted series based on working days and seasonality. The decrease was due to the 3.3% drop in food, beverages and tobacco sales and the 2.7% drop in non-food sales. Compared to February 2014, the turnover went up by 3.3% as gross series, and by 3.5% as adjusted series, according to the National Institute of Statistics. The retail trade turnover in the first two months of the year increased by 4.8% year-on-year as gross series and by 4.9% as adjusted series. editor@romania-insider.com
