Report: Mineral water, chocolate, cosmetics brands lead top 50 Romanian brands

Romanian brands Borsec, Poiana, Kandia, Gerovital, Dorna, BCR, La Dorna, Dacia, Plafar and Timisoreana took the lead in the top of the 50 biggest Romanian brands, published by Biz magazine and Unlock Market Research. The top includes a dedicated section to the media market, with ProTV brand leading the pack, followed by Antena 1, Radio Zu, TVR 1, Prima TV, Kiss FM, Radio 21, Libertatea, Adevarul and Europa FM. More about the top here(in Romanian). Borsec is a Romanian mineral water brand owned by Romaqua, while Poiana chocolate brand is owned by Kraft Foods. Kandia is another chocolate brand in Romania and is owned by Julius Meinl, which bought it back from Cadbury last year. Gerovital is a Romanain cosmetics brand, while BCR is the leading lender in Romania, owned by Austrian Erste Bank. La Dorna dairy is currently in the portfolio of French company Lactalis, while Dacia car brand is owned by French Renault. Plafar is a Romanian naturist products brand currently owned by Centrofarm.
