Renault’s Bucharest design office reaches final decision on Duster

Renault’s design office in Bucharest, which is currently working on the design of the future Duster SUV model together with Renault Technologie Roumanie, is almost done with the car’s design. “The design of the future Duster is not completely ready, but we have adopted the final decision. The project is now in Romania and expects to be carried out. The car is home,” said Laurens van den Acker, Renault's chief designer, cited by local Ziarul Financiar. The second generation of the Dacia SUV model is expected to be rolled out in 2018, eight years after the launching of the first Duster. It is the most important project carried out by Renault now, as the Duster model, sold both under the Dacia and Renault brands, as well as the Nissan brand, is Renault group’s best-selling model worldwide. Carlos Ghosn, president and CEO of Renault-Nissan Alliance, said that Romania was a competitive country from an economic point of view, despite its problems related to the road and railway infrastructure. “We will do everything to insure that our suppliers and the plant in Romania remain competitive,” he added. editor@romania-insider.com
