Regina Maria’s Baneasa Hospital becomes first Romanian medical unit to get JCI international accreditation

Romanian Baneasa Hospital, which is part of the local Regina Maria private health network, becomes the first medical unit in Romania to get the accreditation from Joint Commission International (JCI), according to an announcement of Regina Maria. JCI is an American non-profit organization which accredits medical facilities in the U.S. and around the world. The accreditation process took about one year and required EUR 200,000 investments from the company. “Our mission to put patient safety first now got international recognition and we intend to extend this to our whole network,” said Fady Chreih, executive director for Regina Maria. Regina Maria’s Baneasa Hospital is specialised in obstetrics and gynaecology, neonatology and paediatric services. Regina Maria is one of the largest private health companies in Romania. It operates 21 clinics, 4 hospitals, 2 maternities, 3 medical campuses, 7 labs and its own stem cell bank. The company is controlled by American private equity fund Advent.
