Record number of tourists over weekend for Romanian seaside resorts

About 95,000 tourists were officially registered in Romanian seaside resorts during the weekend ended on July 27, which is a record for this year’s holiday season so far. Hotels in Mamaia, the most visited Romanian Black Sea resort, were fully booked during the weekend, while in the other resorts, the occupancy rate was between 80 and 85 percent, according to the president of the Littoral – Danube Delta Association (ALDD), Corina Martin. She added that the number of tourists to Romanian seaside resorts so far this season has been lower than in previous years, due to the poor weather.
