Qatar Holdings, the sovereign fund of the Qatar Emirate, will invest EUR 1 billion in European Goldfields, a company which owns the Certej goldfield mining project in Romania. The fund will buy 10 percent in the company from Ellaktor and further loan USD 600 million to the company for some gold exploitations in Greece, according to European Goldfields.
