Private pension assets increased last year in Romania by 36.7%, to EUR 4.5 billion. They represented 3.05% of the GDP, up from 2.34% in the previous year, according to the Financial Supervisory Authority. Mandatory private pension assets amounted to EUR 4.27 billion at the end of December last year, with a 37.15% annual growth rate. About 6.29 million people were part of the mandatory private pension system end- 2014, up 4.2% over 2013. The average contribution in December 2014 amounted to EUR 20.1, with a 11% annual growth rate. The optional private pension assets recorded EUR 0.2 billion in December 2014, up 28.12% over December 2013. editor@romania-insider.com
