Port freight traffic exceeds 14 million tonnes in Romania

The total freight traffic recorded in the first quarter of 2015 in the Constanta, Midia and Mangalia ports amounted to over 14 million tons. It went up by 16% over the same period last year. Maritime traffic recorded 10.65 million tons, whereas the river traffic amounted to 3.35 million. Maritime traffic increased by 13 % year-on-year while river traffic went up by a quarter. These ports recorded traffic increase for cereals, from 2.6 million tons in the first quarter of 2014 to 5.2 million tons in the first three months of this year. Oil products freight went up from 1.33 million tons in 2014 to 1.4 million tons in 2015. editor@romania-insider.com
