Pope Francis’ first book to be launched in Romania this month

Pope Francis will publish the first book of his papacy this month. Called The Name of God is Mercy: A Conversation with Andrea Tornielli, the book will also be launched in Romania in January, by Trei Publishing House, reports local Mediafax. Starting from his own experience as a priest and pastor, Pope Francis discusses mercy in his first book, a subject that has stayed at the basis of his teaching. He enters in a “deep, simple, and intimate” dialogue with the readers with the help of journalist and Vatican expert Andrea Tornielli. The book targets people who are looking for “a meaning of life,” “a road to peace,” or a way to heal the “physical and spiritual wounds.” The book doesn’t only target those within the Catholic Church, but also those outside it. In this volume, Pope Francis explains why he has decreed 2016 “The holy year of mercy,” named this way for the blessing and forgiveness received from God. The launch in Romania will happen at the same time with the worldwide release of the book. Pope Francis is the 266th and current Pope of the Roman Catholic Church. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in December 1936. His papacy began in March 2013.
