The total value of the IT market in Romania went down by 2.6 percent in 2010, to around EUR 831 million, according to an estimate from PMR Research. “Although the market shrunk again, the drop was not as significant as the previous year. Public IT expenses went down too, even though the possibility to attract EU funds has become an important factor in saving many public authority projects in 2010,” according to the research firm. The researchers estimate the IT market in Romania will reach around EUR 877 million this year, a 5.5 percent increase, out of which hardware will cover half, services, 23 percent. editor@romania-insider.com
