Pharmaceutical group A&D Pharma gets EUR 127 mln syndicated loan from local banks

A&D Pharma, the biggest pharmaceutical group in Romania, has secured a EUR 127 million syndicated loan from local lenders BRD Groupe Societe Generale and UniCredit Bank. The two banks will have equal contributions to the loan (EUR 63.5 million each). The loan is for a three-year period. A&D Pharma will use the money to refinance a syndicated credit line it took in 2013. The pharmaceutical group was assisted by local law firm RTPR Allen & Overy while the two banks’ legal counselor was CMS Romania. A&D Pharma group includes the biggest pharmaceutical distributor in Romania, Mediplus Exim, which has sales of EUR 706 million in 2014, and drug store chain Sensiblu, which had a EUR 279 million turnover last year. The two companies had more than 3,000 employees. BRD and UniCredit are two of the top five banks in Romania. Romania’s pharma market reaches EUR 2.4 bln editor@romania-insider.com
