Pharma director: The number of pharmacies in Romania is unsustainable

The Competition Council should start an investigation into pharma retail, including on the number of pharmacies Romania needs, as the current level has become unsustainable, said Ovidiu Wencz, director of the pharma network Dona. Margins declined, even more pharmacies entered bankruptcy, and the whole pharma retail market recorded losses in 2014. Wencz said that nobody wants to make huge profits on this market which the state subsidies and therefore controls, but that nobody makes money anymore, due to the number of newly opened pharmacies, reports local Mediafax. editor@romania-insider.com
