PayPoint sees 6% increase in number of transactions in Romania

Payment operator PayPoint recorded a total volume of 38.8 million transactions in the Romanian market in the first half of the 2017-2018 financial year, up 6.6% compared to the first six months of the previous year. The company signed 14 new collaboration agreements during this period with partner suppliers in the utilities, transport, telecommunications and financial-banking segments. It increased its network by 469 stores reaching 11,771 payment points at the end of September, up 10.4% year-on-year. In October, PayPoint completed the acquisition process of local competitor Payzone. Following this acquisition, PayPoint’s total network will exceed 21,000 payment points.
