Over 80% of Romanians watch TV daily

Most Romanians (84%) watch TV daily, according to the satellite company SES Astra Romania. Half of these are active people with a job whereas 23% are retired. Some 60% of the active persons watch TV two or three hours daily. TV consumption grows during weekends, when Romanians watch TV almost 4 hours a day, reports local Mediafax. About 7% of the respondents watch TV over 8 hours a day. Almost half (40%) of Romanians have two TV sets in their households, 23% have one TV, 21% have three TVs, whereas 2% have six or more TVs in their households. Most Romanians watch news channels (78%), films (57%), music (43%), or entertainment programs (41%). Some 21% of the respondents prefer the TV station Pro TV, which is followed by Kanal D (12%), and Antena 1 (10%).
