OMV Petrom hikes gas prices by RON 0.09/liter in Romania

Romanian oil and gas company OMV Petrom raised its gasoline and diesel oil pump prices by RON 0.09 (EUR1=RON4.2065) per liter. Thus, the price of gasoline sold at OMV Petrom's filling stations ranges between RON 5.16 per liter and RON 5.96 per liter. As of Tuesday, Petrom sells its diesel oil with prices varying between RON 5.15/liter and RON 5.63/liter. In 2010, Petrom rose their gasoline pump prices by 20 percent and the diesel oil prices by 24 percent in average. According to the country's statistics institute, fuel prices rose by more than 15 percent last year, after a 13 percent increase in 2009. Mediafax
