Olympics latest: Romania takes silver in women's weightlifting competition

Romania has added an extra silver medal to its tally at the London Olympics. This brings the total so far to one gold, three silver and two bronze medals. The latest silver medal came in the women's weightlifting competition – Roxana Daniela Cocos (in picture), who hails from the capital Bucharest, took the silver in the 69 kg category.

She lifted a total weight of 256 kg in the two types of lift and came second to Jong Sim Rim of North Korea. The bronze medal went to Belarus' Maryna Shermankova.

In the medal table, Romania still lies between Australia and Brazil, but has slipped further to 16th place. Romania's only gold so far came in the men's 10m air rifle, won by Alin Moldoveanu. Romania took the bronze in the women's gymnastics team event and picked up two silver medals in the women's judo competition, as well as another bronze in the men's weightlifting.
