The number of businesses that filed for insolvency dropped in January by 54.72% year-on-year, reaching 930 units. Bucharest recorded the highest number of insolvencies, namely 220, down 38.89%, according to the National Trade Registry. Constanta county comes next with 58 insolvencies, up 16%, followed by the Bihor county with 48 insolvencies, down 75.38%. By comparison, the number of new company registrations dropped in January by only 0.16% year-on-year. Most new companies opened in Bucharest, namely 1,410. editor@romania-insider.com
