Number of insolvencies, down by 22% in Romania

Over 5,000 local companies became insolvent in the first seven months of the year, down 22.5% compared to the same period in 2015. Bucharest recorded over 1,000 insolvency cases during this period, down 12.5% compared to the first seven months of 2015. The Bihor county ranked second, with over 320 insolvencies, down 1.5%. It was followed by the Iasi county, with over 300 insolvencies, up 13.2% year-on-year. Over 10,500 companies suspended operations between January and July this year.
