New auction round for gold, silver perimeters in Romania

Romania will auction off new gold and silver beddings, to allow exploration on four new perimeters. These will be part of a 24-perimeter bids which will allow exploration for chalk, brown coal, gold and silver. The four areas where bid winners will be able to start digging for gold are located in the counties of Hunedoara, Bistriţa Năsăud and Alba, on some 27 sqkm, double the area of the Rosia Montana project. Exploitation will only start if exploration reveals the sought after resources, and only after the state OKs the technologies and the environmental impact. Bids can be placed by August 14, and winners will be announced on August 20. editor@romania-insider.com
