Net profit of private pension funds in Romania up 41% in first half of 2013

The net profit of mandatory (Pillar II) and optional (Pillar III) private pension funds in Romania amounted to some EUR 105 million (RON 462.8 million) in the first half of 2013, a year-on-year increase of 41 percent. The data, provided by the private pensions administrators, was quoted today (October 29) by local business publication Zf.ro. On the Pillar II, the total net results of the private funds amounted to some EUR 100.7 million (RON 440.4 million), while the ten optional funds recorded a total net profit of around EUR 5 million (RON 22.4 million). The ING mandatory private pension fund recorded the highest net profit in the sector, of EUR 33.5 million (RON 146.6 million), up some 31 percent against June 2012. In the optional pension funds segment, the first three places in the ranking are held by ING Optim, AZT Moderato and BCR Plus, according to Zf.ro. The three funds are managed by ING Asigurari de Viata, Allianz-Tiriac Pensii and BCR Pensii. Irina popescu, irina.popescu@romania-insider.com
