National Museum of Natural History “Grigore Antipa” in Bucharest re-opens this week-end

The National Museum of Natural History “Grigore Antipa” (1, Kiseleff St.) in Bucharest will re-open on Saturday, September 17, starting 10:00 hours, after two years of restoration and modernization works. The modern “Grigore Antipa” museum has rooms where documentaries are screened, InfoTouch screens, 3D projection, plasma and interactive systems to present the exhibits. A coffee shop, two rooms for activities for children and a souvenir shop are also organized within the museum. To see the new, modern Antipa museum you have to pay a ticket of RON 20. The museum's program is from Tuesday to Sunday, between 10:00 hours and 19:00 hours. The museum organizes guided tours for groups of more than 10 people, either in French or in English, for RON 100. You can also choose the audio guide, available in English or in French, for RON 10. The tariff for professional photographers is of RON 1,000 an hour. The modernization works at the National Museum of Natural History “Grigore Antipa” started in 2009, and amounted to about EUR 13 million. The necessary funds were secured, in part, through a loan from the Ministry of Culture in 2006, from the Council of Europe Development Bank, and the rest from the state budget.
